The average person deigns ever being put into prison. For what could be of greater disgrace and humiliation to have every eye that looks at you be one of condescenscion. To wonder what could arouse greater fear in a human being than to have his life story stamped with a criminal record is beyond me.

It may be worth arguing that the stamp so talked of could impact people of different temperaments differently. The personality metrics of this person may be worth exploring however in fact. I believe an abundance of psychological literature expounding the personality dispositions that may lead one to a criminal life exist. However a non empirical exploration into this subject is something that interests me. I wish to take a look. And anyway, the precursor to the empirical exploration of a subject is always something intellectual.

Maybe the person in question is simply an idiot and isnt aware of the intricacies of the law that led him to the miserable position of being an inmate. Howsoever low the probability of this happening is, it must be said that the law is incredibly complex and thus to faulter is relatively reasonable. However if we were to consider someone in complete awareness of the lawful consequences of their actions, it could be said that what exists in them is the sense of incredible desperation or an utter disrespect to the integrity of the social structures they’re in. If we were to consider the first case the question of what exactly it was that led them to the desperation that caused them to break the law must be asked and if there was anything within their control to prevent this from happening . While it is obvious that some of these compulsions could be external, the stimuli present inside the human being are of greater interest to me. It might just be that the person possessed an insatiable desire to possess large amounts of money, having been born in a society afflicted by poverty. This further supported by the belief that the rich usurped the money from the lower classes , could serve as a great motivator for criminal activity. The personality trait that ties these two is of course extreme disagreeability.

The person referred to could be highly stress tolerant and exploratory and this may dispose her to behaviors characteristic of risk taking. Maybe the person with these traits happened to be successful in a few of these unlawful enterprises which further disposed them to activities of this nature. It could even be argued that it was a short coming of society to nib such actors in the bud that led them to the condition they are in.

Besides this the society possibly could be greatly corrupted and the civilization incredibly dogmatic. In such cases it might even be necessary to disrupt the underlying order of society. However the judgement that leads someone to such action must be inspected for all underlying motives besides its altruism, for often some of these may prove incredibly poisonous.

For those of us fortunate enough not to have ever come across situations of this nature, we are quaratined right now anyway . I have a feeling this pseudo imprisonment will hold us back from situations that push us into real imprisonment. I await the crime rate drop.
